Vladimir Rokhlin

Vladimir Rokhlin's research interests include randomized algorithms of
numerical analysis, partial differential equations, scattering theory,
numerical solution of integral equations, quadrature formulae for singular
functions, approximation theory, harmonic analysis.
Rokhlin is a member of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics,
of the National Academy of Sciences, and of the National Academy of Engineering.
He is a recipient of the 2001 Leroy P. Steele Prize for a Seminal Contribution
to Research, and a recipient of the
2001 Rice University Distinguished Alumnus Award.
