Pictures from Christmas 2000 to New Years, 2001

This was a fall of cancelled plane segments, usually one a week.  This continued right into the holidays with a massive snow storm on December 30th.  All of our plane reservations (I will give Delta credit for trying very hard to get us to my parents) were cancelled.  LaGuardia was still closed after lunch.  Oh, well, we can try again later in the winter :-)

David-Night-Before.jpg (145416 bytes) The night before Christmas.
David-Opening.jpg (299356 bytes) David starting to open presents.
David-Monkey.jpg (119136 bytes) David with a new monkey.
Deck1.jpg (206084 bytes) At noon on December 30th... 12 inches (30 centimeters) and growing.
Deck2.jpg (178716 bytes) Another view of the deck, which is on the second floor behind the house.
Deck3.jpg (170036 bytes) At 5pm, there was more snow on the deck.
Front.jpg (264292 bytes) A view out the front of the house across the stream and pond (under the snow) towards the neighbors' house.
Tree.jpg (185632 bytes) The "Christmas" tree near the house with the pond beyond it.
David-Shoveling.jpg (108860 bytes) David decided to go out and shovel the front steps.  However, he had to find them first.
Snow-15in.jpg (76368 bytes) There was 15.5 inches (39+ centimeters) of snow on the driveway when he headed out.
Snow-Plowing.jpg (169412 bytes) Help arrived immediately when our snowplow service drove up the driveway (about 400 feet or 125 meters) from the unplowed street.  They promised to come back after another next 6 inches...
David-Drift1.jpg (131524 bytes) How high were the snow piles after the snowplow left?  Taller than David!
Purrpuss-Couch.jpg (90688 bytes) A sleepy cat on a couch.  No snowstorm is going to keep Purrpuss from her naps.
Purrpuss-Sitting.jpg (44736 bytes) She woke up, sat up, and refused to pose for a picture, but I got one anyway.
Purrpuss-Steps.jpg (27504 bytes) Purrpuss climbing the steps on her way to another meal.

Cheers,
